What I'm primarily working on, at the moment, is my self-publishing debut, an Action-Adventure Fantasy, as well as a YouTube channel that focuses primarily on those essays I mentioned. You can see the progress of those in the tracker tab to the right of the screen when you're on the homepage.

About

My name is B. H. Schafer, a 26-year-old from Jamaica. I write speculative and literary fiction that often centers around obsession, longing, and transformation, and I go where the story takes me, not shying away from dark or bittersweet endings.

I write for mainly two reasons: one, I’ve been at this for so long that stopping would be like severing a limb; and two, I believe that stories, if taken seriously, can be a potent source of transformation for both the reader and the writer.

I try to adhere to several pillars in my writing: emotional authenticity, prose that can be savored, moral and emotional complexity, and mystery over simple answers. This is what you can expect from my writing.

I have a degree in Computer Science, and my work has been published in PREE Literary Magazine. You can find my work on Substack as well.
